Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1785.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a pagoda top, two brass ball-and-spire finials on block plinths, a molded arch above the door, turned colonettes at the front corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top and a case door with molded edges and an astragal top. Base with molding at the top and a molded rectangular base panel, supported on bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring, roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, gilt metal foliate ornament in the spandrels and lunette, and applied silent/strike selector in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there are an applied seconds dial, an applied name plaque, and a calendar aperture.
